The Can’t Cook Book: Recipes for the Absolutely Terrified!

Terrifie From the #1 New York Times best selling author of Deceptively De16130138licious, an essential collection of more than 100 simple recipes that will transform even the most kitchenphobic “Can’t Cooks” into “Can Cooks.”

We all know moving out of home can be a little scary. Having no one to cook a lovely dinner for you each night can be a little daunting at times. If I moved out, I know for a fact I would want a great little cook book that is not complicated.

Everyone just wants to cook dinner without having to prepare for an hour. The meals in the book range from breakfasts, small treats, lunch, dinner and desserts. If you have no real knowledge about cooking at all, The Can’t Cook Book is here to save the day. I mean nobody wants to eat takeaway for the rest of their life.

The Can’t Cook Book has very simple but fun and tasty recipes in it. The book almost takes you back to the basics of cooking.  With each recipe there is a photo of what the meal will look like (If you were a Professional chef that is!). At the beginning of the book it has photos of all the tools you will find very useful for cooking in general . The book has many sections which include:

  • Introduction for can’t cooks
  • Gear up
  • Stock up
  • Set up
  • How-to
  • Recipes: These Include the following:
  • Breakfast
  •      Chicken
  •      Meat
  •      Fish
  •      Paster & Pizza
  •      Vegetables
  •     Grains & Beans
  •     Salads
  •     Desserts
  •     Quickies
  • Other useful things

My two favourite things about the book are: In the Gear up sections of the book the author has covered a huge range of equipment that you would use in a kitchen and has provided a brief explanation  about why the equipment is useful and what it is used for.  The steps involved in the recipes are so simple and easy to follow 10 year olds can cook from it(cookies, entrees, soups and salads!) without any problem understanding the steps or what certain measures or techniques mean.

Pros:

  • Available on Kindle or as hard cover
  • Hundreds of quick tasty recipes
  • Instruction are simple to understand
  • Everything in the book is explained in great  detail but is simple to understand
  • Most meals take under 30min to prepare and cook

Cons:

  • Cheaper to buy on kindle than hard cover book
  • book is very basic

Over all the Can’t Cook Book is a great little book for anyone who is not very confidant in the kitchen but would love to be. I would highly recommend taking a look at the book.
