Breville have taken the convection oven to a new level by creating a kitchen appliance beyond any imagination, known as the Breville Smart Oven. The Smart Oven is a heavy, quality appliance with numerous smart features and very user friendly. All you need to do is simply turn the dial to your preferred method of cookery and the smart oven does the rest. Breville thought of the fact that different foods require different methods of heating. Breville have deigned the smart oven with Element IQ cooking technology, which adjusts the power of 5 single quartz-heating elements to cook food quickly and more evenly. This heating system distributes the heat evenly throughout the oven where and when it is needed. The blue back-lit LCD screen shows the nine different menu options, allowing the user to choose the best possible setting for their cooking task. The nine intuitive functions have an individually preprogramed times and temperatures. If you want to change the temperature or time of your cooking task, you simply turn the dial and the smart oven saves your conversions for future use.
Most ovens have fixed element wattage that can only be switch ON and OFF, but the smart oven has an adjustable wattage setting providing more flexibility when cooking. For example, on the toast function 1800 watts is delivered through the heating elements, 900 watts on the top and 900 watts on the bottom. The smart oven is crisping and browning the outside of the toast, while keeping the inside moist and soft. The LCD screen turns amber when cooking and preheating, once the time you have set is finished the oven automatically alerts the cook and stops cooking.
The smart oven gives you visual feed back on the door, of where to place your oven rack. When removing your food from the hot oven, the auto eject rack is located on the second rack level. So when you open the door the magnets attached the door pull out the tray slightly, to minimise the risk of burning and for easy removal. The warm setting keeps your food at an ideal temperature, while you take care of other kitchen tasks. The frozen foods function button on the smart oven allows you to cook food straight from the freezer, and it automatically sets more cooking time. The Breville smart oven makes a huge difference when it comes to the fact of saving power. An ordinary oven uses a huge amount of 7400 watts of power, but the smart oven only used 1800 watts of power. The smart oven also includes a removable pull-out crumb tray, which is easily cleanable. A hot roof is very helpful when you would like to keep other foods warm while you are cooking with the smart oven. Click HERE to find out more from Amazon

Although the Breville smart oven may have all these breathtaking features, there a few things that could be added or improved. Firstly, the digital timer alert is not as loud as needed, especially in a large home. The beep should be similar in volume to a full-size oven, and audible from another room. Furthermore, for small place dwellers the smart oven is rather big in size. In some cases the oven may have some warm spots for example, the pieces of toast in the middle section may be browner than outer pieces.
A major safety hazard is an unexpected explosion that could take place while the smart oven is in use, which results in a shattered glass door and a possible injury. After approximately 3-4 years of continuous cooking the smart oven will shut down without warning and stop working from then on. As mentioned above the Breville smart oven has a magnetic auto eject rack, but that specific feature is only available on the second level. The down side of the frozen function is that it only works on toast, bagel, pizza and cookies. If one attempts to set it on any other cooking task the function will simply not work.
